Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said some industry figures who attended a recent White House crypto summit could face investigations if Democrats regain control of Congress in this year’s U.S. midterm elections, according to The Crypto Basic.
Responding to criticism that he was not invited to the White House crypto summit hosted by President Trump, Hoskinson said the event included Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, and Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. He argued that as controversy grows over cryptocurrency ventures linked to the Trump family and alleged collusion between the administration and the industry, crypto policy is shifting from a bipartisan issue to a political flashpoint. Hoskinson added that Democrats could intensify investigations into the industry over potential conflicts of interest or corruption.
