Citigroup to launch deposit token-based overseas remittance service in Japan

Citigroup plans to begin a deposit token-based overseas remittance service for Japanese companies within the year, becoming the first foreign financial institution in Japan to do so, CoinPost reported. The service is expected to enable real-time foreign-currency transfers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without the usual constraints of bank business days and hours, including at night and on holidays.
