Riot Games discusses esports sponsorships with Kalshi and Polymarket

Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends and Valorant, has discussed esports sponsorship deals with prediction market platforms Kalshi and Polymarket, Bloomberg reported. Riot Games said prediction markets are an emerging sector and the company is reviewing them with a focus on protecting match integrity, the value delivered to teams, and the impact on the fan experience. According to Riot Games, sports betting tied to League of Legends and Valorant totaled $10.7 billion in 2024, with most of that activity taking place in unregulated markets. The company added that it began allowing esports sponsorships from traditional sports betting operators last year.
