Revolut suspected of leaking wealthy crypto users’ data after fake government request

Fintech firm Revolut is suspected of disclosing some users’ personally identifiable information after being deceived by a forged government data request, according to on-chain investigator ZachXBT. ZachXBT said the attacker impersonated an official government email domain to request customer information, and Revolut provided the data after trusting the email authentication details. The exposed data is said to have included names, addresses, copies of identification documents, Bitcoin transaction records, and account statements, while facial biometric data was excluded. ZachXBT analyzed the incident as mainly targeting high-net-worth cryptocurrency holders. Revolut sent affected users security alerts and urged users to verify suspicious inquiries through official in-app channels.
