IGA chair says Clarity poses major threat to tribal sovereignty

Indian Gaming Association Chair David Bean criticized Clarity, saying its passage would pose the biggest threat to Native American tribal self-governance in decades. Bean said the bill had been revised to exclude prediction markets from the decentralized finance (DeFi) exemption, but argued the change alone had not resolved tribal concerns. Native American tribal groups had previously argued prediction markets such as Kalshi were siphoning revenue from tribal casinos.
