Warren office opposes crypto ethics deal, calls state AG powers illusory

U.S. Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s office is opposing a cryptocurrency ethics agreement, arguing the authority granted to state attorneys general is effectively illusory, Punchbowl reporter Brendan Pedersen said. The office said only the Department of Justice can bring actual enforcement actions, and no lawsuit can be filed if White House ethics officials approve cryptocurrency-related activities.
