Community says 0G extended investor token lockup by a year without consent

September 17, 2026, 3:50 AM
According to multiple cryptocurrency communities, layer-one blockchain 0G has extended the lockup period for tokens allocated to early investors by one year beyond the original plan without going through an investor consent process. Crypto investor Kirby Ong disclosed an email said to be from 0G and said it may be time for 0G to converge to "0." According to the email, the unlock start date for 0G tokens allocated to early investors was changed to Sept. 22, 2027, with one-24th unlocking each month over the following 24 months. No official announcement from 0G has yet been confirmed. Louna, who runs the crypto-focused Telegram channel 'Louna's Investment Room,' said 0G appeared to have sought consent only from some VCs while not asking most retail investors, even as their token lockups were extended by one year. Louna added that the unilateral extension was likely to fuel investor complaints.
