Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade passes Devnet-11 rehearsal

Ethereum’s next upgrade, 'Glamsterdam,' has successfully completed its Devnet-11 rehearsal ahead of its rollout on the Sepolia testnet on Oct. 6, CoinDesk reported.
Nethermind client test results showed the network processed 570.7 billion gas over three minutes and 15 seconds and completed all 2,302 tests, averaging about 2.9 billion gas per second. Glamsterdam also raised the block gas limit to 200 million from 60 million about one hour after the testnet went live. With a 200 million gas limit, Ethereum can absorb more activity before users begin bidding fees higher to secure block space during trading surges or network bottlenecks, which can help ease spikes in transaction fees.
