Ethereum industry group backs plan to cut block time from 12 to 10 seconds

Ethereum Institutional said it supports EIP-8198, a proposal to shorten Ethereum block times, citing an increase in institutional on-chain activity. The proposal centers on initially reducing block creation time from about 12 seconds to 10 seconds. EthLabs said 20 DeFi founders also back the proposal and that it is working to have it included in the future Hegotá upgrade.
