Solana handles 76% of x402 transactions over four weeks

Solana said on X that 76% of x402 transactions, an open payment protocol built on HTTP, were processed on Solana. According to Artemis data, Solana recorded 23.2 million x402 transactions from Aug. 22 to Sept. 19, followed by XRP Ledger with 3.39 million, Polygon PoS with 2.05 million, and Base with 1.85 million. x402 uses HTTP 402, or Payment Required, to let AI agents automatically pay for API access or digital services, mainly through stablecoin-based onchain payments, allowing agents to pay for needed services instantly without separate accounts or subscriptions.
