U.S. SEC weighs one-time KYC model for onchain tokenized securities
September 25, 2026, 4:03 AM
The U.S. SEC is preparing a plan that would require customer verification only once for users of onchain tokenized securities, The Rollup founder Andy reported, citing sources. The plan has not been officially announced or confirmed by the SEC.
According to the sources, the new framework would use a zero-knowledge-proof-based identity system to let users verified once prove their eligibility across multiple onchain exchanges and tokenized platforms. The structure would allow users to avoid repeating KYC checks on each platform and improve composability, including by splitting orders across multiple trading venues.
