Bitget CEO says hack losses rise to $387.5M, incident remains under control
September 25, 2026, 2:30 PM
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said on X that on-chain tracking showed about $387.5 million in assets had been transferred to attacker-linked addresses, putting the scale of the hack above the previously known $351.6 million.
Chen said the revised figure reflects additional assets including ZEC and TRX, not a new breach. Chen added the incident remains under control and the exchange is investigating with Mandiant and SlowMist. Chen also said Bitget has started a fund recovery bounty program under which parties that voluntarily freeze 5% of the stolen cryptocurrency can receive 5% of the recovered amount as a reward, with already secured frozen assets also eligible. A plan to resume user withdrawals is due to be announced by 4:00 a.m. UTC on Sept. 26.
