Compound Foundation accused of improper use of 8.42 million DAI reserves

The Compound Foundation has been accused of improperly using 8.42 million DAI from Compound V2 reserves, according to Odaily. On-chain analyst ugurmersin said the DAI was moved to exchanges, swapped for 344,780 COMP, and then delegated to the foundation’s own voting address. The COMP was later returned about 58 minutes before voting closed on proposals 580 and 582. The side raising the allegations claimed the foundation used the process to secure DAO voting power and effectively influence key governance proposals, including passage of a $52 million V4 plan. The allegations are based on on-chain records and the analyst’s claims, and no official explanation from the foundation or final determination on the legality of the transactions has been confirmed.
