Solana says Alpenglow has no set mainnet launch date

A report that Solana’s next-generation consensus protocol Alpenglow would go live on mainnet on Sept. 28 is false, BeInCrypto reported. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko and developer Anza said Alpenglow only recently entered public testing and there are no plans to rush it onto mainnet. According to the outlet, the Sept. 28 date appears to have come from the feature activation schedule for Agave v4.3, Solana’s validator client, which does not explicitly mention Alpenglow. Alpenglow aims to cut transaction finality times to around 150 milliseconds from about 12.8 seconds and remains in the testnet stage, with no specific mainnet deployment date set.
