September crypto hacking, phishing losses hit $766.4M

About $766.4 million was lost to cryptocurrency hacking and phishing in September, marking the largest monthly total this year, blockchain security firm CertiK said, according to The Defiant. The bulk of the losses came from Bitget at $387.5 million and LiquidNetwork at $318.7 million. CertiK’s dashboard showed 98 security incidents in September, with $273.2 million frozen or returned, bringing the adjusted loss total to about $495.3 million.
