Lummis sees low odds of crypto tax bill clearing Congress this year

U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis gave a low assessment of the chances that crypto-related tax legislation will pass Congress this year. Lummis said Senate Finance Committee members were not eager to resume tax policy discussions during the lame-duck session after the midterm elections, and added it would be surprising if a digital-asset tax bill were handled during that session. Lummis also said that if talks on tax revisions restart, additional demands for amendments beyond the tax law passed last year could emerge.
