SEC chairman says crypto has grown into a multitrillion-dollar asset class

U.S. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said the crypto market has grown from a niche segment in Bitcoin’s early years after its 2008 debut into a multitrillion-dollar asset class, while investor demand has continued to rise. The SEC on the same day formally proposed a new regulatory framework for crypto custody by investment advisers and regulated funds.
