NEAR community weighs cutting token issuance rate from 2.5% to 1.6%

NEAR Protocol said on X that a proposal has been submitted to the NEAR governance forum to lower the token issuance rate to 1.6% from 2.5% over the next 24 months. The proposal also outlined a long-term plan to fix NEAR’s total supply. It is currently under discussion, with feedback being gathered from validators, House of Stake delegates and the community.
