Former White House digital assets adviser urges South Korea to hear industry on basic law

Harry Jung, former deputy director of the White House Digital Asset Advisory Committee, said South Korea should actively reflect voices from the industry as it drafts a basic law on digital assets, ZDNet Korea reported.
In a media interview at Korea Blockchain Week 2026 in Seoul, Jung said Washington often uses the phrase 'Personnel is policy' and added regulators need to understand the ecosystem well. Jung also said the private sector can provide real-time feedback on what it is seeing on the ground, and policymakers need to receive that feedback while drafting regulations.
