South Korea’s JB Bank plans to launch a personal overseas remittance service for Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and the Philippines, in December in partnership with Ripple, Edaily reported. The bank has been in talks with Ripple on overseas remittances since last year and signed a Ripple Payments agreement in August. At XRP Seoul 2026, JB Bank team leader Yoon Man-sik said the bank is building a system for personal and corporate overseas remittances and plans to move up the launch of its corporate remittance service if personal transfers gain traction. Yoon added the bank is also considering launching a stablecoin-based overseas remittance service in the first half of next year if a legal framework for digital assets is completed.
