CoinShares says 70% of wealthy investors in the U.S., UK and Germany hold crypto

More than half of high-net-worth individuals in the U.S. and major European countries hold cryptocurrency, with ownership ranging from 54% to 70% by country, according to a CoinShares report. CoinShares said a survey of 2,230 high-net-worth individuals in the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland found the highest crypto ownership rates in the U.S., UK and Germany at 70% each, followed by Switzerland at 69%, France at 66%, Italy at 58% and Sweden at 54%. Crypto investors generally allocated around 10% of their portfolios to the asset class, the report said. Among crypto investors, 80% held BTC, while 89% of BTC investors also held other cryptocurrencies. Separately, 79% of respondents supported stronger regulation of the digital-asset market, and 77% said Bitcoin will play an important role in the global financial system in the future.
