Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate sidelines crypto in core platform

Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican candidate for Ohio governor, has maintained his pro-crypto stance but is not making it a central campaign issue, Cointelegraph reported. According to the report, Ramaswamy’s crypto messaging in this race is markedly less prominent than it was during the 2024 U.S. presidential primary, when he strongly backed Bitcoin and clearly opposed the adoption of a central bank digital currency.
His ties to the crypto industry remain strong, however. Ramaswamy holds about 5.69 million shares of Strive stock, with the stake valued at more than $170 million. Strive also held 23,156 BTC worth around $2 billion as of Aug. 28.
