Strategy posts $20.9B Q3 BTC gain, topping Meta operating profit
October 06, 2026, 11:42 AM
Strategy posted about $20.91 billion in mark-to-market gains on its Bitcoin holdings in the third quarter, exceeding Meta’s $19.0 billion in operating profit for the same period, Bitcoin.com reported.
The third-quarter gain on Strategy’s BTC holdings would rank seventh among S&P 500 companies on that basis. Even so, mark-to-market losses of $14.46 billion in the first quarter and $8.32 billion in the second quarter left the company with a cumulative mark-to-market loss of about $1.87 billion for the first nine months of 2026. Strategy currently holds 848,000 BTC, and would need Bitcoin to stay around $85,750 through year-end to erase its year-to-date losses. According to CoinMarketCap, BTC was recently trading at $86,243.61, up 0.17%.
