U.S. government moves $770M in BTC to Coinbase Prime over two days

The U.S. government transferred a total of 9,261 BTC worth $770 million to Coinbase Prime over two days on Oct. 6-7, Galaxy Research reported. About half of the amount was recovered from the Bitfinex hack, while some of the rest came from assets forfeited by an exchange. Galaxy Research said it also identified 2,456 BTC that had not been previously disclosed entering the government’s Coinbase Prime deposit address, leading it to estimate the tokens were government-seized assets.
