Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson said at Token2049 in Singapore that some rival tokenized funds remain limited to putting traditional financial products into digital form, falling short of fully using blockchain’s advantages.
Johnson said BENJI, the company’s tokenized fund, manages records of fund ownership directly on a public blockchain, with the blockchain itself serving as the official book of record. That allows returns to be calculated by the second and cuts transaction costs to $1.13 from about $150, Johnson said.
