Fidelity executive says boundary between traditional and on-chain finance may disappear

The boundary between traditional finance and on-chain finance could eventually disappear, Fidelity Digital Assets head of strategy Matthew Horne said during a panel discussion, according to Crypto Briefing. Horne said the gap between the two could vanish entirely, leaving only finance, and rejected the idea of a competitive dynamic between traditional finance and decentralized finance. Instead, on-chain finance is more likely to absorb traditional finance or be absorbed by it, Horne said, adding that the labels may ultimately stop mattering. He also said institutional assets are moving on-chain at a very fast pace, with the main driver being the opportunity to enter new markets that offer investors better access.
