Hyperliquid is closer to public infrastructure than an exchange, Jeff Yan says

Hyperliquid is closer to public infrastructure like the internet or Linux than to a cryptocurrency exchange, Hyperliquid co-founder and CEO Jeff Yan said in a recent interview, according to Wu Blockchain. Yan said classifying Hyperliquid as a major crypto exchange or comparing it with CME or Nasdaq is not accurate. Yan added that the project is doing something no one had previously attempted, making it difficult to find an appropriate comparison. Rather than having 10 systems performing the same function, Yan said, one neutral system is needed. Yan added that the community’s goal is not to replace a specific target, but to offer users better services and functionality through public infrastructure.
