Based, an onchain trading platform built on Hyperliquid (HYPE), said it reported a debit card data leak to Singapore police and notified relevant authorities including the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).
CEO Edison Lim said on X that the company is responding to affected users individually and cooperating with investigators. Lim added that card services remain operational, while trading wallets and the app were not affected. Users manage their own wallet private keys, and Based does not store them, Lim said.
Lim also said an administrator dashboard tied to leak allegations raised about five months ago was unrelated to the incident. The dashboard was part of a prototype built in March on OpenClaw, underwent limited internal testing, was never launched, and was later discontinued, according to Lim. No customer data was stored on it, Lim added.
