Hyundai, Kia unveil NFT-based tech for in-car payments and crash response

Hyundai Motor and Kia have disclosed patented technology using non-fungible tokens to authenticate users of in-car payment services and support traffic accident response and vehicle history management, Digital Asset reported. According to the outlet, the two companies this year disclosed in South Korea two jointly filed patents related to an "NFT Service System." The technology links physical vehicles with NFT-based owner and driver information to verify users during the payment process, provide needed information when accidents occur, and manage maintenance and modification records.
