Tom Lee sees $2T generational wealth transfer driving next crypto bull market

Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee said a roughly $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion generational wealth transfer between 2026 and 2028 could help drive the next crypto bull market, as younger heirs tend to have a higher appetite for risk assets.
Lee, a Wall Street veteran who co-founded financial research and asset management firm Fundstrat in 2014 and serves as its chief investment officer, cited estimates from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and Fundstrat in saying about $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion in wealth is expected to change hands from 2026 to 2028. Lee said younger generations receiving inheritances show stronger risk appetite for virtual assets and stocks, and the ongoing wealth transfer is expected to support the coming crypto bull market.
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev previously made a similar point in an interview with CNBC, saying more than $100 trillion in wealth will shift from older generations to younger ones over the coming decades, and a larger share of inherited funds than in prior generations could flow into virtual assets, creating additional demand.
