Aptos launches opt-in encrypted mempool on mainnet to block MEV attacks

October 12, 2026, 5:50 PM
Aptos has officially launched an opt-in encrypted mempool on its mainnet to prevent MEV, or maximal extractable value, attacks. With the protocol-native feature, transaction payloads remain encrypted while validators determine transaction ordering, and are decrypted only after block consensus is complete. That structure is designed to fundamentally block sandwich attacks and front-running by bots, while sender addresses and gas fee information remain publicly visible.
