South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb has raised its share of trading value into the 30% range as it chases Upbit, but large holders with more than 1 billion won in crypto assets remain concentrated on Upbit, News1 reported. According to data submitted by South Korea’s five largest crypto exchanges to the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Park Min-kyu of the National Policy Committee of the National Assembly, a total of 3,979 users held more than 1 billion won ($736,000) in crypto assets as of August and September this year. Of that total, 2,984 were Upbit users, accounting for 74.99%, while Bithumb had 765 users, or 19.23%, about one-quarter of Upbit’s level.
