Payward CPO says U.S. crypto regulatory framework remains inadequate

October 13, 2026, 1:53 PM
Jonathan Jachym, chief policy officer at Payward, Kraken’s parent company, said comprehensive U.S. cryptocurrency regulation is still being delayed, according to Crypto Briefing. Jachym said both Democrats and Republicans agree on the need for related rules, but specific legislative progress has yet to materialize. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is now pursuing new rules for cryptocurrency trading by retail investors, though those discussions remain at an early stage. He added that with the CLARITY Act failing to pass the Senate, CFTC rulemaking has emerged as a main path for improving the system, while the lack of clear legal standards for the crypto market remains the central issue.
