StarkWare has cut the estimated computation cost of Bitcoin quantum-resistant transactions, or QSB, by 82% to $59 from about $320, CryptoSlate reported. The cost fell from $320 during the first mainnet demonstration in August to $67 in September and then to $59 in the latest update.
QSB is an emergency-response technology designed to help defend against quantum-computing attacks without changing Bitcoin’s consensus rules. The figure is based on benchmark testing rather than actual transaction costs, and it does not include Bitcoin network fees.
