South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit under the Financial Services Commission said on Oct. 30 it had referred three illegal virtual asset operators for investigation: Aegis Ventures, TetherMax and SuperTrust. According to Newsis, the agency has also asked the Korea Communications Standards Commission to block domestic access to the websites and mobile apps of TetherMax and SuperTrust.
The investigation referral and access-blocking request are part of efforts to strengthen the response to domestic business activities by illegal virtual asset operators and restrict local users’ access to illegal business sites.
