CME FedWatch sees 81.7% chance of Fed hold in October

According to CME’s FedWatch tool, the probability of the Federal Reserve holding its benchmark interest rate steady in October stands at 81.7%, while the chance of a 25-basis-point hike is 18.3%. For December, the probability distribution shows a 15.8% chance of rates remaining unchanged, a 69.5% chance of a cumulative 25-basis-point increase, and a 14.7% chance of a cumulative 50-basis-point increase.
