Said Tavakoli, CEO of Iran's state-run National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), announced on April 27 that the country is implementing measures to restrict natural gas consumption. The move is intended to prepare for repairs to facilities at the South Pars gas field, which were damaged in an Israeli airstrike. Tavakoli stated that the company has no other choice, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing Iran's Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
