Japan's easing of its arms export restrictions has opened an opportunity for dialogue on military equipment exports between the two countries, Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Lutovinov said on May 1, Reuters reported. Speaking during a media interview at the Ukrainian Embassy in Japan, Lutovinov warned of a domino effect if Ukraine were to fall, stating that the Indo-Pacific region and the European continent are inseparable. He added that if Ukraine develops an air defense system with Japanese support, it could reduce its dependence on U.S.-made Patriot missiles.
