Revolutionizing user experience

The collaboration, announced via a blog post published by BingX on Monday, aims to revolutionize the crypto trading experience by combining BingX’s robust platform with AstraBit’s cutting-edge technology.

AstraBit empowers BingX users with total control over risk and exposure in their trades through automated trading strategies powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. Users can leverage AstraBit’s technology to customize and hyper-personalize their trading strategies, maximizing their trading potential in the dynamic crypto market. AstraBit-powered bots follow preset instructions, but users have the flexibility to adjust parameters such as stop loss and take profit at any time, even in the middle of a trade.

Security measures

To ensure the highest level of security, AstraBit operates 24/7, utilizing two-factor authentication (2FA) and implementing advanced security measures such as machine learning intrusion detection systems and anti-ransomware software. Importantly, AstraBit cannot withdraw funds from users’ wallets, providing an additional layer of protection.

Elvisco Carrington, PR and Communications Director at BingX, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating: “The integration with AstraBit helps revolutionize the crypto trading experience. By combining BingX’s robust platform with AstraBit’s cutting-edge technology, we are empowering our users to maximize their trading potential and achieve greater success in the dynamic crypto market. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering excellence and driving the industry forward.”

MT5 integration

In addition to the collaboration with AstraBit, BingX made headlines earlier this year by announcing its direct integration with MetaTrader 5 (MT5), making it one of the first crypto platforms to connect with the world’s most popular trading platform. MT5 offers advanced features, including a wide range of technical indicators, depth of market (DOM) functionality, and support for trading on multiple exchanges. It is known for its versatility, supporting various asset classes, including stocks and futures.

The integration with MT5 allows BingX users to activate their BingX MT5 accounts and trade futures directly from MT5’s user-friendly interface. This seamless connection optimizes the trading process, leveraging cutting-edge innovations from the world of traditional finance. Users can expect a safe and stable trading experience on cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH, accompanied by advanced analysis tools for quantitative trading and customized functions.

By tapping into the MT5 platform, BingX not only enhances the trading experience for its existing user base but also opens the door for forex traders on MT5 to easily enter the world of cryptocurrencies. This integration provides a smooth transition for forex traders, allowing them to explore the crypto market with ease.

The partnership with AstraBit and the integration with MT5 demonstrate BingX's efforts in driving the business forward. Those efforts are further evidenced by a decision taken by the firm earlier this month to expand outside of its Southeast Asia base market into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Singapore’s Central Bank Paves the Way for Digital Asset Networks

Singapore’s Central Bank Paves the Way for Digital Asset NetworksSingapore’s Monetary Authority (MAS) has taken a significant step towards the future of digital assets by proposing a comprehensive framework for the design of open and interoperable networks for tokenized digital assets.Photo by Pixabay on PexelsDetailed frameworkIn a report published on Monday, titled “Enabling Open & Interoperable Networks,” MAS presented a detailed framework aimed at understanding the design options necessary to facilitate the seamless trading of digital assets across diverse networks and liquidity pools. The framework is rooted in the core principles of financial market infrastructure and draws inspiration from cutting-edge projects that have been at the forefront of advancing these concepts. To ensure a robust and comprehensive approach, the report was jointly developed with subject matter experts from the Bank for International Settlements’ (BIS) Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructure (CPMI), with valuable contributions from prominent financial institutions including DBS Bank, JP Morgan, HSBC, SBI Digital Asset Holdings, Standard Chartered, and UOB.MAS defines digital asset networks as platforms that leverage distributed ledger technology (DLT) or blockchain to enable secure and efficient transfers of digital assets without the need for traditional intermediaries. These networks serve as the foundation for open and interoperable infrastructure, facilitating the issuance, transfer, and custody of digital assets. By promoting transparency, efficiency, and trust, the report suggests that they will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital asset ecosystem.Project GuardianThe report underscores the immense potential of digital asset networks in a future financial landscape, where digital assets and currencies can be seamlessly exchanged across different networks. MAS believes that these networks could revolutionize the way financial transactions occur, leading to increased efficiency and expanded possibilities. The framework also lays the groundwork for future exploration as part of the Project Guardian initiative, encompassing additional focused themes such as Trust Anchors and Institutional DeFi.MAS has also announced the expansion of Project Guardian to include a broader range of financial asset classes. The project now features an industry group comprising 11 leading financial institutions that will spearhead industry pilots in asset and wealth management, fixed income, and foreign exchange. Esteemed banks such as HSBC, Standard Chartered, DBS, and Citi are set to conduct multiple trials focusing on tokenization. For instance, Standard Chartered, in collaboration with Linklogis, is developing an initial token offering platform to issue asset-backed security tokens listed on the Singapore Exchange.Despite its cautious stance on cryptocurrency speculation, MAS recognizes the immense potential for value creation and efficiency gains within the digital asset ecosystem. Leong Sing Chiong, MAS’ Deputy Managing Director of Markets and Development, emphasized the authority’s optimism, stating: “We see significant potential for value creation and efficiency gains in the digital asset ecosystem.”This latest initiative by MAS comes on the heels of its recent proposal for standards governing the use of digital money, including central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and stablecoins. Singapore’s central bank is paving the way for the future of digital assets and making a strong effort to assert its position as a global leader in digital asset innovation through the establishment of this framework alongside industry collaboration.

Aevo opens up network to other developers

Aevo, the Singaporean crypto derivatives platform, is gearing up to broaden its ecosystem by allowing other protocols to build on its rollup infrastructure. ‘The future is modular’Currently, Aevo exchange is the sole application on its rollup, but according to Julian Koh, co-founder of Ribbon Finance, the platform's parent protocol, the intention is to open it up for other developers. On Tuesday, Koh retweeted a social media post by the company which stated “The future is modular,” adding the comment “build whatever.” Koh told The Block that "the primary angle here is we are currently built on our own rollup — but Aevo exchange is currently the only app on this rollup. Our plan is basically to open this up for other [developers] as well and build an ecosystem around our exchange."Photo by Shubham Dhage on UnsplashTransitioning to CelestiaAevo, specializing in options and derivatives trading, operates on its own Layer 2 network, built using the OP Stack and running atop the Ethereum blockchain. In a cost-saving initiative, the platform plans to transition to Celestia for storing transaction data in the near term. Celestia launched on mainnet last October with the aim of enhancing blockchain scalability. It’s a modular data availability network which securely scales relative to the number of network users. This expansion is part of a broader roadmap set to be unveiled in the coming weeks, as Aevo looks towards achieving aggressive growth. According to DeFi data aggregator DeFiLlama, Aevo has already been hitting ever higher numbers in recent months. Only two months ago, the protocol had $10 million total value locked (TVL). At the time of writing that metric has increased to $50 million. Last month, the platform achieved a new record-high weekly trading volume level in excess of $500 million. Julian Koh attributes this growth in part to Aevo's yield-bearing balances. Users deposit their crypto, which is then sent to MakerDAO to generate yield. In return, users receive a derivative token to trade on the Aevo platform, providing a mechanism for traders to earn yield while actively engaging in trading. 2023 rebrandRibbon Finance, which initially launched Aevo separately, merged the projects under the Aevo branding in July 2023. As part of the rebrand, an Aevo token will be introduced, with a 1:1 exchange rate for RBN token holders during migration. Post-rebrand, Aevo plans to roll out an incentive program aimed at boosting the platform's metrics.  Looking ahead, Aevo plans to delve deeper into yield offerings, drawing inspiration from Ribbon Finance. The platform aims to launch yield strategies in Q1 of this year, allowing users to lock up their crypto in various setups designed to generate returns, with the tokens being unavailable for trading during this period. One notable strategy that has contributed to Aevo's appeal is the pre-launch trading of upcoming tokens. The platform supports trading for tokens expected to launch soon, often through airdrops, providing an opportunity for traders to hedge against airdrops or lock in specific prices before the official launch. The project team membership draws on past experience at Coinbase, Kraken and Goldman Sachs, with academic backgrounds attained from Stanford, MIT and Cornell University.

Kazakhstan achieves first retail payment with digital tenge

Kazakhstan achieves first retail payment with digital tengeBinur Zhalenov, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s National Payment Corporation (NPC), marked a historic moment at the XI Congress of Finance in Almaty on Wednesday by conducting the inaugural transaction with the country’s newly introduced Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), the digital tenge.Photo by J B on UnsplashDigital tenge debit cardThat’s according to a report published by local media outlet, Kapital.kz. Utilizing a debit card linked to the CBDC account, Zhalenov demonstrated the practicality of the digital tenge during his speech, showcasing its potential impact on the nation’s financial landscape. The official launch of the digital tenge on the retail market is expected to usher in a wave of development, with Zhalenov outlining that it will result in massive platform development in 2024. Collaborating with global giants Visa and Mastercard, as well as local banks, Kazakhstan aims to integrate the CBDC into plastic cards, enabling users to make digital tenge payments globally through platforms like Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.Eurasian Bank is one of the local banking participants in the project. Its CEO, Lyazzat Satiyeva, commented on the development:“Participation in the ‘Digital Tenge’ project opens up opportunities for launching innovative products for consumers and businesses using blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, developing a regulatory framework for digital assets and, in general, this is a big step in the development of a new digital economy in the country.”Meanwhile, Zhalenov emphasized the programmable capabilities of the digital tenge, envisioning its utilization in smart contracts, innovative financial services and digital asset transactions. Looking ahead, the CBDC’s development roadmap includes a focus on offline payments in 2024, with ambitions to incorporate the digital tenge into cross-border trade by 2025.The journey towards the digital tenge commenced in February 2023, with the NPC, established in September, spearheading the development and implementation of the CBDC. The launch of the NPC was likened to a restructuring of the Kazakhstan Center for Interbank Settlements. Its mandate includes overseeing interbank clearing services, managing digital identification and enabling money transfers. As Kazakhstan strides into the digital era, parallel measures have been taken to tighten oversight of the cryptocurrency market.‘Great Kazakh investment firewall’While the central Asian country may be progressing its CBDC, authorities in Kazakhstan appear to be taking a different approach to international crypto businesses operating within its borders. In September, reports surfaced of difficulties accessing major international crypto exchanges such as Coinbase and Kraken without a local license. Following this, local crypto mining operators addressed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in an open letter in October, urging a reconsideration of newly introduced tax rates on mining activities.Kazakhstan’s advancement of the digital tenge signals a transformative phase in the nation’s financial landscape, aligning with global trends in digital currency adoption. As the NPC continues its strategic development, the intersection of traditional finance and emerging digital assets in Kazakhstan is poised for further evolution.
