Nassau and Treasure Labs Go Metaverse to Step into the Future of Style

Korean sports equipment manufacturer Nassau has entered into a partnership with metaverse company Treasure Labs to step into the future of style.

According to a report by local news agency News1, this collaboration aims to introduce an innovative fashion brand on Pararium, the metaverse platform developed by Treasure Labs. Pararium users will have the opportunity to enjoy unique fashion items through their avatars while engaging in virtual experiences and earning rewards.

Sports brand

Having built a reputable brand over the course of 50 years, Nassau is widely recognized in Korea for producing durable sports goods. By joining forces with Treasure Labs, Nassau aims to tap into the potential of Web3 content and services to enhance its global market presence.

 

Metaverse platform

Treasure Labs has been establishing a strong presence in the metaverse sector through collaborations with various entities such as blockchain platform Solana Labs, cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com, and decentralized gaming platform The Sandbox. Notably, Treasure Labs is the first Korean company to secure investment from the Solana Foundation, the sister organization of Solana Labs.

Both companies are enthusiastic about the prospects of this partnership. A representative from Treasure Labs emphasized that the collaboration will introduce a creative fashion brand that appeals to millennials and Generation Z, bridging the virtual and real worlds within the metaverse. The representative further mentioned plans to establish a dedicated brand hall within Pararium, where a series of events will showcase unique and trendy Web3 content. Echoing this sentiment, a Nassau official anticipates that the collaboration will give both firms a competitive edge in the global market.

ACE Exchange in turmoil as Taiwanese prosecutors broaden investigation

Taiwanese prosecutors have expanded their inquiry into ACE Exchange, urging the detention of Chenhuan Wang, the platform's president and partner at Chien Yeh Law Offices. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office disclosed to The Block that Wang, alongside four other suspects, was summoned after police raids in Northern Taiwan earlier this month. Subsequent to the interrogation, prosecutors sought Wang's detention and restrictions on visitation rights, alleging his involvement in money laundering and fraud linked to the activities orchestrated by the detained founder, David Pan. Chien Yeh Law Offices has moved to distance itself from its partner’s activities, stating that the matter is a personal investment of Wang’s. It stated:”Ace Digital Innovation Co., Ltd. is the personal external investment affairs of lawyer Wang Chenhuan and has nothing to do with the firm.”Photo by Thomas Tucker on UnsplashMisleading advertisingPan, along with colleague Lin Nan, is accused of a three-year collaboration, utilizing misleading social media advertisements to deceive investors into acquiring worthless cryptocurrencies, including MOCT. The inclusion of Wang in the investigation now requires a court determination on potential detention. ACE Exchange responded to Pan's arrest earlier, asserting that Pan had ceased daily operations in 2022, with Wang assuming the presidency in September 2023. Wang claimed to have initiated efforts to delist controversial coins, with ACE assuring cooperation with investigations as a witness. The exchange affirmed the normalcy of trading and operational conditions, emphasizing the security of user assets and smooth cryptocurrency and New Taiwan dollar deposit and withdrawal services. Established in 2018, ACE Exchange ranks among Taiwan's prominent crypto exchanges, alongside BitoGroup and MaiCoin. In spite of alleged wrongdoing relative to key actors within the business, the platform has outlined its commitment to legal principles, stating zero tolerance for any misconduct within its management team. Regulatory focus on offshore exchangesIn the broader context of Taiwan's crypto landscape, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) plans to impose restrictions on offshore cryptocurrency exchanges operating within its jurisdiction, unless they secure required registration. In September last year, the FSC drafted guiding principles for virtual asset service providers (VASPs). These guidelines aim to fortify information disclosure, set review standards for virtual asset listing and delisting and ensure the secure separation of companies' and customers' assets. The FSC intends to strictly prohibit illegal business solicitation by foreign crypto firms, mandating registration and compliance declarations with anti-money laundering regulations. Failure to comply will result in the prohibition of business solicitation within Taiwan or from domestic residents by foreign VASPs. As Taiwanese prosecutors intensify their efforts, the ACE Exchange case unfolds as a critical episode in the evolving regulatory landscape, prompting both legal scrutiny and a reevaluation of the country's approach to crypto oversight.

This system marks a pivotal step towards intensifying their efforts to reduce carbon emissions across their extensive supply chain.The SCEMS is designed to record and manage carbon footprints at every stage of the manufacturing process, starting from the extraction of raw materials to the production and delivery of parts and vehicles. This comprehensive approach allows Hyundai and Kia to gain better control over their carbon reduction initiatives.The urgency of addressing climate change has made it essential for organizations of all sizes to manage and decrease their carbon emissions. However, calculating carbon footprints requires an understanding of complex standards and intricate mathematical processes.Supply chainTo address these challenges, Hyundai Motor and Kia are providing the SCEMS to hundreds of their suppliers free of charge, offering them the necessary tools to effectively curb carbon emissions. The SCEMS employs artificial intelligence modeling, which automatically computes carbon emissions and predicts future projections as suppliers from various industries input their data into the system.Previously, these suppliers had to rely on external experts to perform such calculations. By adopting Hyundai’s new system, suppliers can now independently set their carbon reduction goals and efficiently manage their activities, thereby cutting costs and enhancing their competencies.Incorporating blockchainMoreover, Hyundai Motor and Kia anticipate that the incorporation of blockchain technology into their operations will bolster the reliability of their data, increasing their credibility among global evaluators of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management.A Hyundai official emphasized that the scope of eco-friendly products now encompasses their entire lifecycles and supply chains. The company aims to lead the charge in building a sustainable and green supply chain.In line with this commitment, Hyundai Motor and Kia in February joined the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) Supply Chain Program, a nonprofit organization that oversees a global disclosure system for investors, companies, and regions to manage their environmental impacts. As part of this initiative, the Hyundai affiliates have also provided education to their suppliers to aid them in achieving carbon neutrality.Under the CDP’s Supply Chain Program, Hyundai affiliates’ suppliers need to submit data on energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, along with carbon neutrality strategies, sustainability objectives, and renewable energy transition plans to the nonprofit organization.
