Crypto Exchange Bithumb Holds Free Trading Event To Boost User Base and Liquidity

Bithumb, South Korea’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced a major “no trading fee” event in an attempt to narrow the gap with its competitor Upbit, the leading exchange in the market.

The event started on August 1, with select listed virtual assets available for trading without having to pay a fee on the exchange’s Korean won market.

Assets with no trading fees

Aptos (APT), Stacks (STX), Flow (FLOW), Sui (SUI), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), FirmaChain (FCT2), Blur (BLUR), Waves (WAVES), Metal (MTL), and Loom Network (LOOM) will be the first assets to have no fees during the event.

The cryptocurrencies eligible for free trading can easily be distinguished by the blue “Free” badge displayed next to their names. Users can also check the full list through the “Fee-Free” category displayed at the top of the exchange chart.

The event is scheduled to continue until further notice and an additional ten assets eligible for free trading will be added every week as well.

 

Boosting liquidity

According to a Bithumb official, the virtual assets to be unveiled later on will be “subject to active domestic and international investment,” and the exchange will strategically select those that have the highest potential to expand liquidity.

Through this event, Bithumb aims to support the diversification of cryptocurrency investors’ portfolios and increase its user base, thereby enhancing trading liquidity.

The minting event was accompanied by Jelly Adventure, a universe where users can participate in a wide range of missions and games to earn “Bubble Gums.” Notably, Jelly Adventure is not only accessible to Bellyland NFT holders but also to those of other projects such as YogaPetz and Mocaverse.It’s worth highlighting that the minting event achieved the sale of over 5,000 NFTs, even during a period of reduced activity in the NFT market. Despite the declining minting prices and quantities, it managed to raise over 750,000 MATIC.Joining of new international usersAdditionally, the minting event attracted new international users to the Bellygom project, underlining its sustainability. The successful debut of Bellyland NFTs has significantly contributed to the project’s global expansion and presence.Furthermore, Daehong is pursuing a range of initiatives aimed at cultivating a fan-centric ecosystem with the ultimate objective of driving broader adoption of Web3 technologies. Korean crypto exchange Upbit launches BTC-ETH Duo Index

Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s leading crypto exchange Upbit, announced today that it launched a new crypto price tracking service, Bitcoin-Ethereum Duo Index (Duo Index). The news was reported by the local media outlet Etoday.  The service tracks the two most prominent tokens, Bitcoin and Ethereum, each being the top performer and the runner-up in terms of market capitalization in the crypto asset market. It is a strategy index that equally weights Bitcoin and Ethereum, with their holding ratio updated to 1:1 every month. The weightings of the two cryptocurrencies in the index are subject to an adjustment factor, which is based on their prices. Dunamu explained that this heightened interest surrounding Bitcoin and Ethereum is the reason behind its launch of the Duo Index. New tool to boost crypto portfolio’s performance Referencing the Duo Index can help investors estimate their own crypto assets portfolios and boost their performances based on the indicators it offers, including the winning rate of the two coins combined.   The current winning rate of the Duo Index stands at over 58%, which is three percentage points higher than that of the Upbit Market Index (UBMI), which tracks not only Bitcoin and Ethereum but also other altcoins. The high winning rate of the Duo Index demonstrates the bullish sentiment surrounding the two top coins. A Dunamu official stated that the company will continue to keep up with the crypto market trend and further release other strategy indices that would serve the emerging needs of the investors.
