Navigating the interchain landscape and blockchain gaming

Launched in January, HAVAH is an L1 interchain platform that allows users to freely move their digital assets across multiple blockchains. It features multiple decentralized applications (dApps) such as HAVAH Wallet and HAVAH Scan, and houses some 500,000 users.

Miracle Play uses smart contract technology to ensure that anyone and everyone can hold various types of gaming tournaments in the form of PC, mobile and console games. It is currently in the open beta phase, with a cumulative participation rate of about 30,000 players. Although it is only supported on Polygon as of now, it will eventually be available on a total of nine major networks including Avalanche, XPLA, Solana and more, to facilitate cross-network gaming tournaments.

Collaborative synergy

The two companies plan to collaborate on multiple fronts. Miracle Play will adopt HAVAH’s various mechanisms including the Mitter Protocol, which will allow the platform to implement one-click bridging services on the Miracle Play website and mobile app; as well as its interchain mechanism to bring multi-chain services to Miracle Play.

HAVAH also aims to provide technical support for distributing and utilizing in-game rewards across networks on Miracle Play. Miracle Play tournaments will also be available via GameFi dApps in HAVAH’s ecosystem.

“We will continue to work with companies in various fields to strengthen the interconnection of the blockchain ecosystem and expand the base of WEB3 Esport by making it conveniently accessible to everyone,” said Kim Hyun, CEO of Miracle Play.

Crypto Titans Clash on Elon Musk’s X

Crypto Titans Clash on Elon Musk’s XA subtle panel discussion photo posted by Andrei Grachev of Singapore’s DWF Labs turned into a war of words among crypto trading titans on Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter).Photo by Marek Piwnicki on UnsplashDWF vs GSRGrachev, who is a Managing Partner at the market maker and Web3 investment firm, thanked his fellow panelists in the post. However, the tone quickly soured as Cristian Gil, Co-Founder of rival market-making giant GSR, took offense to Grachev’s presence on the panel and voiced his disapproval on the platform.Gil didn’t mince his words, stating: “[Andrei Grachev] had absolutely no business to be on that panel. It’s insulting to [GSR] , [OKX] and [Wintermute] to be in the same room as [DWF Labs].”DWF vs WintermuteHis remarks received a “Like” from Evgeny Gaevoy, the CEO of market maker Wintermute. In response, Grachev defended his presence, asserting that DWF was superior in technology, trading, and business development compared to its rivals, going so far as to suggest to Gil: “Yeah, if I were you — I would be also crying all the time.”The exchange continued with Grachev claiming that DWF was capturing market share from Wintermute, and Gaevoy responded with a nonchalant “lol,” challenging Grachev to invest more if he believed DWF posed a threat.DWF Labs’ rapid growthWhile the exchange consisted of mere words, it shed light on DWF Labs’ sudden rise to prominence earlier over recent months. The company has featured prominently in an array of investments in Web3 startups and blockchain networks over the course of 2023. Prominent among them have been investments in EOS, the Algorand ecosystem, and the TRON ecosystem.Recently appearing on the BlockBeats podcast, Grachev defended the company, outlining that it was not involved in market manipulation in response to recent assertions to the contrary.“We do not engage in any manipulative behavior,” Grachev stated. “Of course, we have the futures market, which is a tool for hedging positions and trading clubs. We are completely different from directional traders,” he added.Gaevoy added some humor to the mix by sharing a meme, raising questions about the maturity level of these prominent figures in the crypto industry. The spat provoked a broad array of commentary from the crypto community.Crypto immaturityThe very public clash raises concerns about how traditional Wall Street firms, currently making bold moves into the crypto space, might perceive such behavior. Notably, firms like BlackRock have been involved in Bitcoin ETF applications, signaling a growing interest in cryptocurrency among mainstream financial institutions. In response to Gaevoy and Grachev, one commentator wrote: “The institutions are never coming back.”While it would appear that there’s no love lost between DWF, GSR, and Wintermute, it also seems evident that both market makers can agree on Singapore as being an appropriate location from where to operate a crypto business. While Wintermute is London-based, it revealed recently that it was expanding its operations in Singapore. Like Wintermute, GSR is primarily based in London although it too maintains a presence in Singapore to service Asia-centric business.

Kazakhstan pilots tenge-backed stablecoin with Solana and Mastercard

Kazakhstan’s central bank has begun testing a stablecoin tied to the national currency, advancing a broader plan to modernize the country’s financial infrastructure. According to Cointelegraph, the pilot, run inside the National Bank of Kazakhstan’s Digital Assets Regulatory Sandbox, introduces Evo, a token with the ticker KZTE that is built on Solana and backed by the tenge. Intebix, a local crypto exchange, and Eurasian Bank are issuing KZTE. Mastercard is preparing connections that would link the token with major stablecoin issuers worldwide. The central bank is not minting the asset, but it is providing the regulatory framework that allows the token to be created and tested. Intebix founder Talgat Dossanov said the initiative is the first instance of the monetary authority directly engaging in the process of stablecoin issuance.Photo by GuerrillaBuzz on UnsplashBuilding a national crypto ecosystemEarly use cases focus on practical payments and on-ramps. The token is designed to widen the bridge between crypto and fiat, support conversions on exchanges, and enable spending through crypto cards. Officials described the pilot as a building block in a national digital asset ecosystem that aims to nurture new financial tools and deepen the local market. The program aligns with guidance from President Kassym Jomart Tokayev, who in a Sept.  8 address urged faster development of a comprehensive digital asset environment. He called for a new banking law to boost competition, attract new players, strengthen fintech, and ease the circulation of digital assets. Tokayev also cited progress with the digital tenge, already in use to finance projects through the sovereign wealth fund, and proposed creating a state crypto fund under the central bank’s investment arm to launch a strategic reserve of promising tokens. USD stablecoin accepted as regulatory feesRegulatory efforts extend beyond the sandbox. On Sept. 4, the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA), the independent regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), launched a pilot that lets companies based at the center pay regulatory fees using stablecoins backed by the U.S. dollar. More than 4,000 firms from over 80 countries are registered at the AIFC, and Bybit was the first to sign a multilateral memorandum of understanding with the regulator. Under the fee pilot, licensed Digital Asset Service Providers may join as Providers and act as agents for payers who choose to settle obligations to the regulator with stablecoins. AFSA chief executive Evgeniya Bogdanova said the initiative is meant to position the financial center as a hub for digital finance and to keep pace with global trends in stablecoin adoption. Together, the sandbox stablecoin, the digital tenge rollout, and the AIFC payments pilot signal a coordinated push to make digital assets a larger part of Kazakhstan’s financial system. Authorities are testing how these tools can operate within clear rules, with an eye to drawing investment and keeping the country connected to fast-moving changes in global finance.
