WazirX terminates relationship with custody provider Liminal Custody

WazirX, an Indian cryptocurrency exchange, announced on X that it is terminating its relationship with custody provider Liminal Custody, according to CoinDesk. This follows a major security breach at WazirX in July, which resulted in a loss of $230 million—about 45% of total customer funds. The exchange and Liminal Custody have each blamed the other for the breach. WazirX is now shifting the remaining assets from Liminal to new multisig wallets, citing concerns about the security of the custodian's interface since the incident on July 18. Previously, WazirX announced that the balances of all affected users will be restored to their pre-hack levels as of July 18 at 13:00 local time.
