U.S. CFTC allows listing of spot Bitcoin ETF options

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas reported on X that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has approved the listing of spot Bitcoin ETF options, clearing the “second hurdle” after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval. With the matter now in the hands of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which is expected to grant approval soon, the options are likely to be listed in the near future. James Seyffart, another Bloomberg analyst, previously predicted that spot Bitcoin ETF options could begin trading in the first quarter of 2025.
