Treasury Secretary appoints Galaxy Digital’s Tyler Williams as crypto advisor
February 26, 2025, 6:33 PM
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has appointed Tyler Williams, regulatory counsel at Galaxy Digital, to advise on digital asset and blockchain policy. Williams previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Treasury and held roles in the Senate and House on financial regulation. The appointment comes as the Treasury and Commerce Departments work on a sovereign wealth fund, which may include digital assets. While President Trump has advocated for a federal crypto reserve, his recent executive order only directs officials to evaluate its feasibility, CoinDesk has reported.
