Circle launches 'USDC Bridge' to simplify cross-chain transfers
April 18, 2026, 5:32 AM
Circle has launched the "USDC Bridge" to support native cross-chain transfers of its stablecoin, Cointelegraph reported. The service is built on the existing Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), an infrastructure that already processes over $500 million in daily transfers.
The USDC Bridge operates on a burn-and-mint mechanism, enabling transfers without wrapped tokens. It also provides features such as upfront fee display, automatic gas handling, and real-time status checks. The bridge currently supports at least 17 EVM-compatible chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base, with a focus on reducing the complexity of existing bridging solutions.
