US-Iran two-week ceasefire to expire in 24 hours

April 20, 2026, 10:30 PM
The deadline for a two-week halt in U.S. attacks against Iran, announced by President Donald Trump, is set to expire at 10:30 p.m. UTC today. On April 7, President Trump announced an agreement to suspend bombings and attacks on Iran for two weeks, describing the measure as a mutual ceasefire. He stipulated that the halt was conditional on Iran's complete, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also stated yesterday that the ceasefire would not be extended without an agreement.
