Foundry USA launches vote on BIP-110 support among mining clients

Foundry USA, the world’s largest BTC mining pool, has begun a vote among its mining clients on whether to support Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110, Cointelegraph reported. BIP-110 would reduce the amount of data that can be stored in Bitcoin transactions, limiting nonmonetary transactions such as Ordinals.
The vote will continue until Bitcoin block 961,632 is mined, which is expected in early August. Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, and Michael Saylor, chairman of Strategy, have opposed the proposal, saying it could be misused to invalidate regular transactions or freeze user funds. Foundry currently accounts for about 23.8% of Bitcoin’s total hashrate.
