Solana begins validator registration for Alpenglow upgrade set for October

Solana has begun validator registration for its Alpenglow upgrade aimed at improving network speed, BeInCrypto reported. The upgrade is scheduled to be rolled out to mainnet in stages from August through October, with a goal of cutting block finality time to around 150 milliseconds from about 12 seconds. The change is expected to improve transaction processing efficiency and enhance performance for payments, DeFi and trading services.
