U.S. prosecutors seek forfeiture of $25M in crypto tied to romance, investment scams

U.S. federal prosecutors said they are pursuing civil forfeiture of about $25 million in cryptocurrency tied to romance and investment scams. The funds are linked to an international fraud scheme targeting victims in the U.S. and Canada, CoinDesk reported. The U.S. Department of Justice said it has recovered more than $800 million so far through a dedicated task force launched last year.
